1.  School : General information and Academic Administration
Kanchanaphisek technical college mahanakorn is a technical college that located in Minburi, Bangkok, Thailand. this college is under the office of Vocational Education Commission and formerly known as Minburi Technical College II. it was founded in 1991 – 24th December  1993. the college received an honor from his majesty the king Bhumibol Adulyadej during the celebration of the golden jubilee and named the college as kanchanaphisek technical college mahanakorn. the vision of this college is “ To develop main power skills, to make standard qualities and to meet up with quality labor demands in workplaces and in the south east asia region”. the uniqness of this college is “ the school provides adequate educational facility for learning, and promotes the value of economic sufficiency”. this college also has identity which is “shows elderly respect and service minded” . last but not least is school motto,” commited to academics excellence, skills and moral values”.  basically, this college has nine major departments which are Accounting, Automotif, Bussiness Computer, Electrical power, electronics,machine tool, mechanical drawing,business retail and welding. every department has its own building  and separate  from the others,  all the facility also are well provided depend on the necessity of the students and department. actually  the department which i was placed to teach is general department, in this department, the teachers teach subject which is not related with the technical. but they teach the general subject like foreign language, science, social study, Thai language, and another common subject. kanchanaphisek technical college mahanakorn also has a commite for academic supporting, the roles and responsibilities of college commitee are to work for the community and parents. the committee also needs to work with college director,teachers, academic staffs, and students in supporting and developing the education and institute in order to have an effective working process, and meet the international standards. mostly, the material and the learning source in this college are provided in the textbook, every subject has its own textbook. thus, in conducting the teaching and learning process, the teachers are generally focus on the material that provided in the teaxtbook. the book is designed  with material and also exercises for  certain period of time (1 year) and level of the students. for the measurement and evaluation system, actually it is quiet similar with the other school, because in assessing the students’ skill and progress, the teachers have some certain criterion that the students need to achieved. teachers would also assess the students from their score, attendance list, participation in the classroom, task and homework. and to determine whether a student fail or success in the learning process, there is mid test and final test conducted in a year. actually, in the second week of february 2018 kanchanapshek technical college conducts  the final test for the students in every department. and after the final test is over, there is no teaching and learning process in the college until the new semester coming. for the curriculum, there are three structures of curriculum. the first one is the curriculum of certificate of vocational education, the graduates of the certificate of vocational education must complete minimum 103 credits from different courses and participate in extracurricular activities: life skills courses minimum 22 credits, Thai language courses minimum 3 credits, foreign language course minimum 6 credits, science credits, science courses minimum 4 credits, mathematics courses minimum 4 credits, social studies courses minimum 3 credits, health education and physical education courses minimum 2 credits, vocation skills course minimum 71 credits, basic vocation skill course minimum 18 credits, specialized vocation skill course minimum 24 credits, elective vocational skill course minimum 21 credits, vocation skills practical experience 4 credits, vocation skills development project minimum 4 credits, electives minimum 10 credits, and extracurricular activities 2 hours per week, so the total minimum which is 103 credits. the second one is diploma of vocational education, the graduates of the diploma of vocational education must complete 83 credits from different courses and participate in extracurricular activities: life skills courses minimum 21 credits, language skills and communication minimum 9 credits, the thinking skills and problem solving minimum 6 credits, social skills and livelihood minimum 6 credits, professional minimum 56 credits, the basic professional skills minimum 15 credits, professional skill minimum 21 credits, the selection of professional skill minimum 12 credits, professional skills training minimum 4 credits, development of professional skills minimum 4 credits, electives minimum 6 credits, and extracurricular activities minimum 2 hours per week, which total credit is 83 credits. And the third one is bachelor degree of vocational education, the graduates of the bachelor degree of vocational must complete minimum 72 credits from different courses and participate in extracurricular activities which are life skill courses minimum 15 credits, language skills and communication minimum 6 credits, thinking skills and problem solving minimum 3 credits, social skills and livelihood minimum 6 credits, professional minimum 51 credits, professional skills minimum 30 credits, the selection of professional skills minimum 15 credits, vocation skills development project minimum 6 credits, electives minimum 3 credits, and extracurricular activities 2 hours per week, which is total 72 credits. And the last about the teaching and learning subjects that relate in English language which there are three skills that are taught in this college in English language which are reading, speaking and listening, and technical English.

 2.  pedagogical contents
after i do the observation for about one week in kanchanaphisek technical college mahanakorn. there are some teaching methods that mostly utilized by the teacher in teaching and learning process in the classroom, such as; discussion, problem solving and speech. basically all the teaching methods that used by the teachers in this college are quiet similar like another school. but the materials are completely different, because all of the material are mostly related with the technical. the teaching material in this college are provided well in the textbook. thus, in conducting the teaching and learning process, the teachers are only need to apply what has been written on the textbook to teach the students. in other words, they have to  focus on the material that provided in the teaxtbook. it is designed  with material and also exercises for  certain period of time (1 year) and level of the students. when i observed one class of an english teacher, the fact that i found that this teacher used  different way to deal with the students in the classroom. she used very good method and strategy to attract students to learn english and made them participate actively in the classroom. i have to admit that the way she teaches is a little bit different and better than any other teachers that i have ever observed before in this college. this teacher usually controll the students individually and she was so patient in teaching the students. if the students did not understand a part of the material, the teacher would not move to the next part. but she would review that part again and again with different way that easier to catch by the students until they understand the material. she also frequently using the right and attractive teaching media to teach the students. this is the characteristic of teacher that make an innovation in teaching. for the source of learning and technology, this college has well provided facility that can be used by the teachers to teach their student such as; projector, and sound system (speaker). the teachers can use the projector to show the picture, play the videos, and explaining the material. they also need the spekaer to turn the audio during english listening and speaking course. so, these facilities are considered very important to support teaching and learning process. however, not all classrooms in this college has the projector and speaker, it is only available in certain classroom. and for the authentic assessment, the teacher frequently use  students’ attendance list, homework and task to determine students’ score.


3. Teaching plan
Basically, the curriculum of kanchanapishek technical college mahanakorn is completely different than the curriculum of another school, because this is not a regular school but this is a college. And also  about the teaching and learning subjects which associated in English, basically, there are three skills that are taught in kanchanapishek technical college mahanakorn, which are reading for authentic material, technical English, and English speaking and listening. Moreover, the lesson plan which designed by the teacher in this college is  different from another school.       2. While activity (60 minutes )
           Task 1 : Listen to the conversation and fill the blank
Ø  Teacher prepares and turn on  the conversation by sound system in  three times (3X)
Ø  Students should listen and fill the blank by matching the answers provided
Ø  teacher gives the students time limit on working the task.
Ø  teacher and students check the answer together.

Task 2 : Answer the questions based on conversation
Ø  Teacher gives instruction to students to do task 2.
Ø  Teacher gives student some questions before listen to the conversation once more.
Ø  Teacher turns on the conversation again.
Ø  Students listen and try to find information from the conversation to answer the questions.
Ø  Teacher gives the time limit.

 4. observation on teachers
 I spent my first week in Thailand only at pranakhon rajabhat university (PNRU). Actually, We were supposed to go to school at the first week and observe the teaching process.  but due to the school’s dormitory was still in repair, we were not allowed yet to go to school. Thus, we observed the teaching process in the second week. The first class that we observed was the class of teacher nut on Monday 29th January, 2018. Teacher nut taught about reading for authentic material with the topic the time table. When I observed the teaching and learning process that taught by her in the classroom, I could say that she was a professional teacher. Because she could bring such a comfortable and fun atmosphere in the class, and the students were  participate very active on following her class. in fact, most of the students of  technical college had a poor English. perhaps from 20 students only 1 or 2 could speak English. and they were very shy to express their opinion and speak up in front of their friends. but the things that surprised me was that teacher nut could motivate these students to learn English with her strategy and technique that she applied in the classroom. She was also a very kind teacher and very patient on handling her students’ behavior. Moreover, she usually used a appropriate teaching media to teach her students. i learned many things from her, such as; I learned how to deal with the students’ behavior, how to use the appropriate strategy and technique to motivate students in learning English, and how to be patient,  and adaptable with the students’ in the classroom. On Tuesday 30th January 2018, we were given a chance to observe the class of teacher wiw.  This teacher taught about technical English, basically, she taught the materials that related with technical with using English. for instance; she introduced the goods and tools that frequently utilized in technical. She used power point to show the picture for the students with its name in English and its translation in thai. So that, the students could easily understand the materials. Teacher wiw were success to apply the technology in supporting her teaching process, and she taught such a difficult material in a very simple way. However, she did not control the students individually in the classroom, consequently, there were some students talking, playing mobile phone, and sometimes they made joke and laugh with their friends. On Wednesday 31st January 2018, we observed the class of teacher khanita, she taught the subject about English speaking and listening. Thus, in teaching process in the classroom, she tried hard to improve the students’ listening and speaking skill. She was also the teacher who successful apply the technology in supporting the teaching and learning process.  the media that she used was a speaker ( sound system) and also a laptop to play  videos  in youtube. So, the students were required to listen to the conversation in the video and they had to work the task that given to them. Actually, when I observed her class, I was really proud and a little bit surprised. Because teacher khanita used full English in teaching her students in the classroom. In order to achieve the learning goal  which is to improve students’ speaking and listening skill. And I could see her perseverance to teach the students and made the subject that she taught meaningful for the students, despite in her bustle and full activity.      

5. Teaching practice
basically the subject that i teach during my practicum in kanchanaphisek technical college mahanakorn is English listening and speaking. so, in making the lesson plan, i have to design the learning activities which related to the subject. and finally it could enhance students’ speaking and listening skill. actually, all the activities and task has already provided in the textbook. and i was supposed to take several of it and put in in my lesson plan. however, i planned to make the different activities and exercises for the students. so, i consult with my mentor  about this, and she allowed me to do it, as long as it’s still appropriate with the students’ level and related with the subject. generally, the teacher in this college should spend 2 hour (120 minutes) to teach the students in the classroom. this time allocation is a little bit different with another school. because most of the school in thailand spend only around 50 minutes for 1 teaching period. so, during 2 hours i have to design many activities and exercises for the students. i spend the first 30 minutes for pre activity, in pre activity there are greeting, checking students’ attendance list, brain storming, singing a song, palying a game, and telling the students about the learning goal. for while activity i spend 60 minutes, the first activity is, I explain the material about asking help from someone with it’s example. after that, I turn on the audio conversation on the speaker, then the students should listen carefully and filling the blank or complete the dialog by finding the missing words. after that, i also provide some questions that related with the conversation which the students are required to answer it by looking at the conversation carefully. the last one, i give the students time to practice the conversation and then they will perform the conversation in front of the class with their partner. for the post activity i spend 30 minutes to give the students chance to ask about the material that they have not understand yet, and also i motivate them to study english, giving feedback,  homework, and farewell.  basically, there are many problems that i found when i teach the students of kanchanapishek technical college mahanakorn. and all these problems are mostly related with the student’s behaviour, such as; there are some students who do not pay attention in the learning process, there are some also talking, playing mobile phone or sometimes make joke and laughing in the classroom. so, to solve the problem, i decided to insert the game and song in my teaching activity to  attract the students’ attention. the fact that i found that, many students participate during the teaching and learning process. some of them stop playing their mobile phone and sing a song together with me, there are also some who stop talking and laughing with their friends and they decide to play game with me. because the game that i bring is very fun and attractive.

6. summary and suggestions
during my practicum 2 in kanchanaphisek technical college mahanakorn, i got so many important lesson and experience for me to keep. actually, i am the 3rd year student of english department pattimura university. and i have not taken practicum 1(micro teaching) or practicum 2 yet. these two subjects are supposed to taken in semester 6 and 7, but right now i am going to enter semester 6. thus, i consider that my teaching experience is very lack and i need to learn more to improve my teaching skill and gain many teaching experiences. after doing the obsevation and teaching in technical college mahanakorn, i can conclude that, the purposes of practicum 2 are to improve my teaching skill and enable me to obtain many teaching experiences. moreover, this program is intended to make me get the broader view and wide understanding of teaching abroad, and increase my  english skill as well. the real procedures of practicum 2 is that, in the first week the student teacher only need to observe the class, in the second week the student teacher is going to be the teaching assistant, in the third week the student teacher will conduct the real teaching process in the classroom,and in the last weeek there would be reflection and lesson learned. however, this procedure is not constant, because it depends on the school where we are placed to teach. based on my experience when i teach in kanchanapishek technical college mahanakorn, the first week from Monday to Wednesday i only observe the class and preparing my lesson plan. from Thursday to Friday, i and my friends were given the chance to teach four class, so, we decided to do the team teaching. on the second week, from Monday to Wednesday, all of us had conducted the teaching process in the classroom individually with the lesson plan that we have designed. and in Thursday, we were evaluated by our mentor in the university and our mentor in school. the reason why we got evaluated so early, because, kanchanapishek technical college mahanakorn is going to conduct the final test in the third week. automatically, there is no teaching and learning process anymore, until the new semester coming. the outcome of practicum 2 is much bigger and beneficial than the outcome of any other courses that i have ever taken. because the outcome of practicum 2 is not only to improve my knowledge and skill, but it is also give me very important experience especially in teaching. by following the practicum 2 in Thailand, i know how to create a good a lesson plan, i also know how to design the activities and exercises for the students that suitable with their level. furthermore, i know how to controll the class and deal with the students’ behaviour in the classroom. i also know how to use the appropriate method and strategy to increase students motivation in learning english. after i was evaluated by my university mentor and my school mentor, actually, there are so many suggestions that they give to me in order to make me become better teacher in the future. the suggestion from Anjarn Suwan which is my university mentor is that, i have to spend more time in explaining the main material for the students, until they really catch the essence of the material. and not to focus and waste the time on doing the exercise and task. he also told me to try to connect all the activities during the teaching and leraning process, because according to him there are many activities that i have designed are not related to each other. the last suggestion from my mentor is that, i have to give a lot of examples for students ,so that they can understand the material easily, and i have to connect the example with the real life situation that happen around them.
